Laziness and Passivity Bible Verses
He will die for lack of self-control;
he will be lost because of his great foolishness.
Don’t put it off; do it now!
Don’t rest until you do.
A little extra sleep, a little more slumber,
a little folding of the hands to rest—
then poverty will pounce on you like a bandit;
scarcity will attack you like an armed robber.
Better to be an ordinary person with a servant
than to be self-important but have no food.
Those too lazy to plow in the right season
will have no food at the harvest.
Lazy people take food in their hand
but don’t even lift it to their mouth.
Lazy people consider themselves smarter
than seven wise counselors.
Laziness leads to a sagging roof;
idleness leads to a leaky house.
Since you have been raised to new life with Christ,
set your sights on the realities of heaven,
where Christ sits in the place of honor at
God’s right hand.
Our great desire is that you will keep on loving
others as long as life lasts, in order to make
certain that what you hope for will come true.
Then you will not become spiritually dull and
indifferent. Instead, you will follow the example of
those who are going to inherit God’s promises
because of their faith and endurance.
And it is impossible to please God without faith.
Anyone who wants to come to him must believe
that God exists and that he rewards those who
sincerely seek him.
I know all the things you do, that you are neither
hot nor cold. I wish that you were one or the other!
But since you are like lukewarm water, neither hot nor
cold, I will spit you out of my mouth!
